Michael Bruno Obituary

Michael J. Bruno
Jan 24, 1935-Nov 4, 2011
Resident of Pittsburg
After a brief stay in the hospital Michael was brought home on September 13, 2011 with private around the clock care until he passed on November 4, with his wife Jean, a caregiver, a hospice nurse and a dear friend by his bedside. He had put up a brave fight for over two years against a rare lung cancer.
Michael was a native of Pittsburg and though he loved to travel never had any desire to leave his home town, family and friends. He was an all around athlete at Pittsburg High School, playing football, baseball and track. He was a great water skier into his sixties, skiing behind his son Michael's boat. An avid fisherman and hunter he had a green thumb for planting flowers and vegetables. He worked for PGE for 43 years, retiring in 1993.
Michael loved is family and friends with a great passion that only he could being the great man he was. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Jean, two sons Michael (Susan) and Tom (Monica) and two stepchildren Larry Parker (Dee) and Linda Forgan. His six grandchildren, three great grandchildren, sister Agie, sister-in-law Esther and many nieces and nephews. His friends meant so very much to him, especially the "Paisano's" and a very special friend named "Beanie." He was preceded in death by his two brothers Nino and Ratzi and sister Chudy.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial and celebration of his life on November 18, 2011 from 10:00am to 2:00pm at the Wedgewood Center 2222 Golf Club Rd., Pittsburg. We hope you can come to celebrate this remarkable man. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the UCSF Foundation.

My Beloved Michael, it has been one and five days since I lost the most precious person in the world. There is not one day that goes by that I don't mourn for and miss you more than words could ever relate, but in my heart you will always be beside me, guiding me and loving me as I loved you in life. Someday we will be together again, my Love. Your loving wife, Jean
