Elia my love, I send you and your family my condolences at this very difficult time. The hole in your heart might get smaller, but it will never go away. Your Daddy will be with you always and in spirit will guide you, love you and keep you safe. Your Daddy has joined the Lord where he will have eternal life. One thing for certain, your Dad is without a doubt entertaining all the angels in heaven! However, he will be missed by all of us on earth!

I’m so sorry for your families’ loss. I’ve known Neil for the past 11yrs through our work, Caltrans. My first memory of Neil was when he taught the hazmat classes to the Maintenance Crews. You were forewarned to pay attention in that class and if you didn’t you better believe Neil would make a spectacle of you. Which I thought made that class pretty entertaining. I got to know Neil more personally through the years. I had to call Neil when there were any hazmat spills in Alameda County, which there were many along the 880 corridor. I also got the pleaser seeing the family side of him at the CHP crab feeds and was able to meet his family in which he would talk so fondly of. The last time I saw Neil was about a month ago at the Maintenance Managers Meeting in Walnut Creek. As always Neil would give me a big hug and ask me how I was doing. I was real happy to see him there, it looked like retirement was doing him good. Neil will surely be missed by all his friends here at Caltrans. May the love and memories of Neil, help your family through the days ahead.
With heart felt sympathy,

Daddy I love you more than words can say. I wish you were still here with me. You were the most amazing father and husband and life will never be the same without you. Please watch down on us and protect us. I learned so much from you and you were taken too soon. This hole in my heart will never heal but I pray that it gets smaller someday. I LOVE YOU, xoxoxo
