Paul Shanberg Obituary

Paul Shanberg
February 7, 1932 - February 10, 2017
Moraga, California
Paul Martin Shanberg passed away on February 10, 2017.
He was married to loving wife Judith Shanberg for the past 53 years.
Paul was born on February 7, 1932, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Rose and Edward Shanberg. His family moved west to Los Angeles shortly before World War II. He graduated from Stanford University in 1953 and remained a devoted fan of Stanford sports. Paul was an officer in the US Navy until 1956, traveling to numerous ports from the East Coast to Hawaii to the South Pacific. After the Navy, Paul returned to Stanford to attend business school. After graduating in 1958, he moved to San Francisco, where he began his career in finance and met Judy.
As their family grew, Paul and Judy moved from San Francisco to the burgeoning suburb of Moraga in 1966. They raised their three children, and Paul and Judy continued to be part of the Moraga community until 2008, when they moved to the Seattle area. Over the years, Paul enjoyed his family and long-time friends, a successful competitive trivia league, his role in one of the first fantasy football leagues, and horse racing.
Paul is predeceased by his brother Gerald. He is survived by his wife Judith; children David and wife Stefani, Jeffrey and wife Dana, and Diane Karl and husband Rob; and four grandchildren, Amanda, Tyler, Sara, and Natalie.
