Rene Molho Obituary

DR. RENE MOLHO Holocaust survivor, lecturer, passed away at home in Palm Desert on August 7, 2002 at the age of 83. Renee is survived by his beloved wife, Tillie, of 56 years. His only son, Mario Sam, predeceased him. Rene was born in 1919 Salonica, Greece. he and his wife Tillie emigrate to Oakland, CA in 1951. He frequently lectured to schools, universities and churches about his experiences in the Holocaust; he was chairperson for the Yom Hashoa memorial services for the East Bay. A very active and respected member of Temple Sinai and the Jewish Community, a Board member of The Holocaust Center of Northern California, The Jewish Federation, and B'nai Brith. A true friend of Israel, Technion University, Hebrew University, Hadassa Hospital, and the World Jewish Congress. Despite of all his hardships, Renee never lost his sense of humor and was an inspiration to all those who knew him. Memorial services will be held Monday, August 12, 2002 at 1:00 PM at Temple Sinai, 28th and Webster in Oakland. Donations in his memory may be made to Temple Sinai, 2808 Summit Street, Oakland, CA 94609, or the Holocaust Center of Northern California, 639 14th Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94118 or your favorite charity.
