Ronald Zuckerman Obituary

Ronald Zuckerman
March 25, 1940 - March 3, 2020
Lafayette
Ronald Zuckerman, age 79, passed away peacefully on Tuesday March 3, 2020, surrounded by his family at Kaiser Walnut Creek Medical Center. Ron was born on March 25, 1940, in Bismarck, North Dakota, to Louis and Betty Zuckerman. He spent his early years living in New Jersey and Philadelphia, before the family eventually settled in San Francisco. He graduated from Lowell High School and U.C. Berkeley before beginning his 36 year career with the Internal Revenue Service.
Ron adored his wife Carol, son Brian, daughter Lauren and would tell anyone who would listen how proud he was of them. Ron's passions included fishing, spending time outdoors (especially Burney Falls, CA), supporting his children's sports activities, growing tomatoes, collecting stamps and coins, and dreaming about what he would do if he won the lottery. In retirement, Ron looked forward to his lunches with coworkers and friends as they tried different restaurants throughout the Bay Area. Ron was preceded in death by his parents and sister Arlene Zuckerman. He is survived by his wife Carol, son Brian (Brianna), daughter Lauren (David Pendergraft), and grandchildren Adelyn, Miriam, and Cormac.
In accordance with current health advisory guidelines Ron's celebration of life will not be held on March 28th and will be scheduled for a future date (please send a note to the email listed below to receive info.). Ron had a gift and love for telling stories. In lieu of flowers, please share a favorite story or memory of Ron by emailing it to [email protected].

I met Ron at wok at the IRS and he was one of the nicest and kindest person I ever met. We dated for a little while but it was not to be. We parted friends. I will always remember him with great affection.

I thought of Ron like a brother, due to his being the brother of the love I had for Arlene. He treated me with so much kindness and fondness, I couldn't help but wait for the times we spoke. If one of us didn't touch bases for what either of us deemed too long a period of time, we promptly picked of the phone and made sure we were OK.
Arlene, Ron and I went for a weekend to Reno and it is a weekend to be cherised. Oh how we all loved gambling.
Rest sweetly my dear Ron.
Love, Barbara

We will always remember Ron as a friend but he was so much more.

We remember Ron BC (Before Carol) telling us how good his life was because his remote control and cordless phone enabled him to watch TV and talk to family and friends while lying on his sofa.

We remember Ron AC (After Carol) as he and Carol were introduced at our house while setting on our soda, and soon became a couple.

Ron was dedicated to his role as husband and when, first Brian and then Lauren, were born, he was so proud of their every accomplishment--first words, first steps, first date, first MBA, first promotion and square footage of their homes. And he usually had the pictures!

And the grandchildren, Ron was so proud of their every accomplishment--first words, first steps.....

Ron and Carol shared a desire to make the world a better place, a place where the hungry are fed, the naked are clothed and the migrant is welcomed.

We pray Ron has heard the words, "Welcome Home, Good and Faithful Servant."
