Russell Farrell Obituary

Russell "Russ" M. Farrell was a caring husband to June, father to Matt, brother, to Judy and friend to many. He left this world on January 23, 2023, at the age of 75. His battle with Leukemia showed his courage in facing challenges with a smile. Russ came out as a hero and stayed strong to the very end. He was born to Barbara Dickie and Russell Farrell on January 24, 1947, in Boston, Massachusetts. After graduating from Hueneme High School and the University of Nevada, Russ chased his dream to be a financial advisor and met his wife, June, in 1970. It was love at first sight and he married June Finley in 1973 in Lake Tahoe, California. She supported his business efforts every step of the way. Together they had one child, Matt, and lived in Alamo for 35 years. Russ had a passionate love affair for soccer and baseball and coached these activities in Alamo, CA. After he retired as a financial planner, he got the best job in the world in guest services for the Giants baseball team. He never missed a game during his tenure with the Giants. He loved ice cream, chocolate and wine. A short Celebration of Life will be held in the near future.

Hello to the Farrel family. I worked with Russ in the broadcasters area a few times. He was so nice and he got me a poster of Mike Krukow & Duane Kuiper which I had my eye on and I'll always treasure. Russ was one of the nicest people I ever worked with, and he showed me the ropes in the broadcaster's area. I will mention his passing to Kruk and he'll pass it onto the others. He'll forever be, a big part of the Giants family. Here's to you Russ a home run for you!!! From Co-worker, Joyce Granville

I knew Russ as a fellow usher at the ball park. We crossed paths as he went on his break and I ended mine. Always a hello, how's your night going. I will very much miss him as we all will. Condolences to his family.

I am so sorry to hear this. I had been asking about him as he had not seen in "his area" on Club level since pre-covid. He's been missed! Always so kind and I enjoyed working near his area when I had the chance. Thank you to the family for sharing him with us at Guest Services. Deepest sympathies.
