Connie Duncan Obituary
Connie Duncan, 76, of Seguin, Texas, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith and selfless devotion to her family and friends.
Born in 1948 in Tallahassee, Fla., Connie was the cherished daughter of Claude Thigpen and Mary Frances Thigpen. She grew up in Tallahassee, where she graduated from Leon High School. Connie later worked as a legal assistant with the State of Florida, where her sharp mind and warm spirit made her a respected colleague and trusted friend.
It was in Tallahassee, while her future husband was attending college, that she met Michael "Scooter" Duncan, the love of her life. They were married on July 1, 1977, in Shady Grove, Fla., and built a beautiful marriage of 45 years before his passing. Their love was a steadfast example of commitment, grace and God's faithfulness.
Together, Connie and Scooter raised four children: Paul (Noel) Duncan, of White City, Fla.; Rosemary (Chad) Robson, of Blackshear, Ga.; Jesse Duncan, of Seguin, Texas; and Ben (Sarah Connor) Duncan, of Kyle, Texas. Connie poured her heart into motherhood, creating a home filled with warmth, laughter and prayer. Her family grew to include more than 15 grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each of whom she adored and who affectionately called her Bubbie or Mammy.
Connie was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Michael "Scooter" Duncan, and her brother, Greg Thigpen. She is survived by her brother, Martin Thigpen; sister, Angela Breon; her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Connie's life was marked by her deep and abiding faith in Jesus Christ. She was active in Tres Dias and her church community, where she found joy in worship, fellowship and service. She lived out her faith not only in the pews but in the way she treated others - always with kindness, humility and compassion. She had a tremendous heart for putting others before herself and was quick to offer a prayer, a listening ear or a helping hand.
She delighted in God's creation, especially through gardening, and she especially enjoyed the quiet peace of time spent with the Lord. She also had a love for collecting antiques and books, baking for others and sharing her many blessings. Her beloved pup, Governor Wallace, brought her joy in everyday moments following the death of her husband.
In November 2024, Connie moved to Seguin, Texas, where she quickly became part of the community and began making new friends. Even in her short time there, she shone the light of Christ, touching many lives with her warmth, generosity and faith.
Although she will not have a formal service, her family asks for prayers as they celebrate her remarkable life. Connie's loved ones take comfort in knowing she is now in the presence of her Savior and joyfully reunited with her beloved husband, Scooter.
Her life was a living testimony of God's love, and her legacy of faith will continue to guide and inspire generations to come.
