Mr. Charles Gary Morgan

Mr. Charles Gary Morgan, 79, of Newington, passed away at the Ogeechee Area Hospice Inpatient Facility.
He was born to the late Josiah and Sarah McDaniel Morgan in Guyton. He was a graduate of Effingham County High School and was drafted and served his country in the Army National Guard during the Vietnam War. Afterward, he began employment with Gulfstream and retired with 36 years of service.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, which consisted of traveling on vacations and spending time with his wife watching the Atlanta Braves. He was a free mason and was a member of the F&M Lodge #428. He was a member of the Buck Creek United Methodist Church, where he served in many capacities, including singing in the choir, playing on the softball team and being head ticket salesman of the Buck Creek Bar B Que.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 42 years, Evelyn Hinely Morgan; and two brothers, Howard Morgan and Wendell Morgan.
Survivors include his children, Holly Morgan (Will) Scott of Sylvania; Tanya Morgan (Mark) Green of Seattle, Wash.; Suzanne Beatty (Terry) Proctor of Rincon; and Michael Lee (DeAnn) Beatty Sr. of Charlotte, N.C;. grandchildren, Michael Lee (Kate) Beatty Jr., Parker Austin (Caryen) Spivey, Caroline Spivey (Screven) Pevey, Isabella Green and Miles Green; great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Royce (Linda) Hinely Of Prattville, Ala.; sister-in-law; Nancy (Jimmie) Mincey of Pooler; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Sept. 21, 2020, at Buck Creek United Methodist Church in Sylvania. Rev. Steve Purnell officiated. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
