Mr. Roscoe Collins

Mr. Roscoe Collins, 84, of Guyton, passed away suddenly Monday, Oct. 10, 2022, at Memorial Hospital due to complications from a stroke.
Roscoe was born in Metter to the late Charlie H. and Florence Brown Collins. He grew up on the farm near Metter and graduated from Metter High School in 1956. He owned and operated Roscoe's Cabinets for more than 25 years before retiring in 2011. He was an active member of the Bloomingdale Christian and Missionary Alliance Church for 44 years, singing bass in the choir for many years, serving on the governing board for 20 years and serving as a building chairman. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, farming and plowing with his tractor. He will be remembered for being a loving husband, father, grandfather and good buddy to many.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Carolyn Collins; two sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen R. Collins (Denise) and Rev. Richard T. Collins (Kendra); grandchildren, Josh Collins (Morgan), Amy Engel (Andrew), Karlee Anderson (Zachary), Daniel Collins, Brett Collins and Jake Collins; great-grandchildren, Jace Collins, Lydia Anderson, Ben Anderson and Libby Jean Collins; siblings, Floyd Collins (deceased), Christine Huggins (deceased), Robert L. Collins (deceased), and Jo Simmons; sister-in-law, Faye Collins; those he loved like sons, Gary Simmons, Russ Collins, Chris Rahn and Dave Prosser, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
The memorial service to honor Roscoe's life was conducted Friday, Oct. 14, 2022, at 1 p.m. at Bloomingdale Christian and Missionary Alliance Church located at 501 West U.S. Highway 80. Rev.s Ken Otto and Richard T. Collins officiated.
The grandsons and grandsons-in-law served as pallbearers. Burial follow at Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
