Marilyn Cochran Obituary
Marilyn obtained a Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Georgia and a Master of Arts in History from Georgia Southern University. She retired from pharmacy with 42 years of service, having been employed with Westside Urban Health Center in Savannah and Indian Reservations of the Navajo Nation in Kayenta, Arizona, and Shiprock, New Mexico. Afterward, she and her husband returned home to the family farm in Screven County. She was an avid reader, card player and enjoyed genealogy. She was a member of the Colonial Dame Society, Daughters of the American Revolution, Mayflower Society, Cooperville Homemaker's Club ,and the Garden Club of Sylvania. She and her husband always enjoyed attending McDonald Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Sam L. Cochran III of Sylvania; daughter and fiancé, Christine Cuyler Cochran and Michael Anderson; granddaughters, Erin Elizabeth Caldwell and Alyssa Danielle Caldwell, all of Wilmington Island; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Geraldine Anderson of Sylvania, Ellen Lee Cochran of Jamestown, North Carolina, and Charles and Laurie Cochran of Monongahela, Pennsylvania.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, July 30, 2022, at McDonald Baptist Church. Dr. John Parker officiated.
Interment followed in the Screven Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Michael Anderson, Charles Cochran, Ken Crosby, Thomas Dehoff and Bruce Smith.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Camillus Health Clinic 121 Ridgecrest Drive, Sylvania, Ga. 30467.
