Valdee Exley Obituary

Valdee Cramer  Exley, 90, passed away Monday, May 7, 2012 at his residence.
The Effingham County native was a member of Rincon United Methodist Church, the Woodrow W. Oglesby Sunday School Class, and received his 57th continuous year Sunday School Pin. He retired from Union Camp, was a World War II U.S. Army Air Corps Veteran, member of the American Legion Post #209, and the Masonic Lodge #440 F.& A.M.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Meldrim C. Exley and Hattie Gertrude Helmly Exley, and his wife, Gladys Oglesby Exley.
Survivors include his daughters, Judith Exley Edenfield of Rincon, Jane Exley Rowell (Jim) of Rincon, Joy Exley Stanton (John) of Hilton Head Island, S.C., and Julie Exley Oliver (Joe) of Rincon; sister, Olivia Exley Weitman of Springfield; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation was Tuesday, May 8, at Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home.
Funeral services were Wednesday, May 9 at 11 a.m. at Rincon United Methodist Church. Interment will be in Rincon Cemetery.
Remembrances may be given to Rincon United Methodist Church, 107 Savannah Ave., Rincon, GA 31326.
