Christine Hanna, 57, of Elkhart, went to be with the Lord on Sept. 29, 2022.
She was born in Elkhart on Jan. 31, 1965, to Phillip and Patricia (Baker) Byington. On Aug. 7, 1993, she married Norman Lee Hanna in Glen Allen, Virginia.
Survivors include her husband, Lee; her son Phillip L.; and Emily Johnston (Phillip's fiance').
Also surviving are her mother, Patricia (Phil) Soncarty, and sister, Kathy (Paul) Hardy, as well as a niece and nephews, and her aunt and uncle Don and Mary Croop.
She was preceded in death by her father, Phillip T. Byington.
Christine's passion for horses led her to adopt rescue horses. First there was Midnight and now Mojo. She enjoyed spending time with her family and being herself.
There will be a celebration of life on Oct. 15,2022, at Pleasant Ridge Christian Fellowship in Middlebury beginning at 4 p.m. Please come and share with us the life of Christine and what she meant to you.
In lieu of flowers, donations maybe made in Christine's name to any local animal rescue or shelter. Her passion for the down trodden animals showed in her life.
Elkhart Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.

I am so sorry for your loss. I met Christine at Dibley's Chiropractic Office and was always greeted warmly and with a smile. She will be missed.
