Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Friday, March 14, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Billings Funeral Home, 812 Baldwin St., in Elkhart, Indiana. A celebration of life service will follow at 6 p.m. where friends and family are kindly asked to share a memory of Dan during the service. Dan will be laid to rest at Highland Cemetery in South Bend, Indiana, where a private family service will be held.
Dan was a kind and loving man who had never met a stranger. He was in the printing industry his entire life and would later flourish in his business, Holtman Print Services. Dan had an incredible work ethic. What set him apart from other salesmen was that he always put his customers' needs first and enjoyed helping others. His hobbies included riding his motorcycle and golfing until he was no longer able. He loved his home and took pride in maintaining an impeccable lawn, once complaining his wife got dirt on his lawn.
Family, friends and home were the center of his life. Spending time with his family was the highlight of any day. He looked forward to family vacations or any gathering that allowed everyone to be together again. Dan was a very special person who will be dearly missed by many.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to be made to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Michiana.
