Joseph S. Yoder Jr., 86, of Bristol, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 8, 2024, in his home, surrounded by family.
He was born on July 5, 1938, in LaGrange County, Indiana, to Joseph S. Yoder Sr. and Pearl Yoder. On July 24, 1965, he married Anna Marie Baker.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, John Yoder. Joseph is survived by his wife, Anna Marie Yoder, and five children, Jo Ann (Ali) Jojo, Joseph S. Yoder III, Sandra (Karl) Yoder, James (Rhonda) Yoder and Stacey (Keith) Wixson. Joseph is also survived by five sisters, Hazel Ann (Clarence) Bontrager, Rosalie (Wilbur) Bontrager, Marilynn (Larry) Hooley, Peggy (Vern) Gillespie and Nita (Dave) Gerwel, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Joseph was a devoted Christian and loved Jesus with all his heart and sacrificed everything to God. He attended Calvary Hill Baptist Church in Elkhart, Indiana.
Joseph enjoyed participating in church activities. He also enjoyed watching the Cleveland Indians baseball team, fishing, golfing, hunting and spending time with family. He also enjoyed cooking and gardening.
Joseph was employed by Willie Miller Oakbrook Homes pouring concrete. Joseph finished his career at Midwest Logistics as a truck driver. After retiring, he did maintenance work at Hubbard Hill retirement community in Elkhart, Indiana. Joseph always quoted, "Do it right the first time, and you won't have to do it a second time."

Uncle JR was an awesome guy. He never made me feel judged and was always so welcoming and supportive no matter how long it been since I last saw him. He was so genuine. My love and condolences to my cousins and Ann Marie.
