Robert Gehlbach Obituary

Robert "Bob" H. Gehlbach, 94, passed away at 2:20 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 28, 2021, at his home in Goshen.

He was born Nov. 17, 1926, in Lincoln, Illinois, to Harry and Anna (Schrader) Gehlbach.

On Dec. 25, 1948, in Lincoln, Illinois, he married Rosemarie Baumann; she preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents; a son, Robert Karl Gehlbach; and a grandson, John D. Bode.

Surviving are two daughters, Helma K. Gehlbach and Rosemary (John) Murray; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Bob was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during World War II, was in the Pool League at Greencroft, and worked at Kroger's in Sturgis, Michigan, and in Goshen, Indiana.

Per his wishes there will be no services and cremation will take place. His cremated remains will be scattered at Greencroft Memorial Prayer Garden alongside his wife Rosemarie.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to any veteran association, Wounded Warriors Project or Goshen Home Care & Hospice.

Elkhart Cremation Services has been entrusted with the arrangements.
