Sue Ellen BeMiller of Zionsville, Indiana, born Sue Ellen Amt, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2026, at the age of 80. A proud daughter of Elkhart, Indiana, where she attended Jimtown High School, Sue grew up to become a woman of warmth, purpose and an unmistakable smile that made everyone around her feel at home.
Sue built a distinguished career in human resources, rising to management and director-level positions at Xerox and the Humane Society of Indianapolis.
Beyond her professional life, Sue was a woman of many passions. She delighted in arts and crafts, loved the quiet challenge of a crossword puzzle, and above all, she adored dogs.
Sue Ellen is survived by her two sons, Chad BeMiller (Paige) and Ryan BeMiller (Kathy); her four beloved grandchildren, Syler, Xavier, Chloe and Lucy; and her brothers, Eric Amt and Fritz Amt. She was preceded in death by her father, J. Henry Amt, and her mother, Janet Amt.
She will be deeply missed. Not just for what she accomplished, but for the way she made people feel. Her welcoming spirit and kind heart touched everyone she met, and that is a legacy that will endure.
Arrangements are with Flanner Buchanan. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in Sue Ellen's memory be made to the Alzheimer's Association at alz.org.
