I just found out that Roy had passed on. I spent a lot of time with Roy and Jerry on the church porch, he was truly part of my "church family".

I have many wonderful memories of uncle Roy. Making homemade root beer, taking us to the lake in the back of his dump truck, Coming over to dingbat to help remove 100 year old willow tree that was bigger around than I was tall. He could either make you laugh or embarrass you with his wonderful sense of humor. I also loved his laugh, faith and encouragement. He's comforting words to me when my dad passed will always be a special memory.

As others have said, my father always welcomed everyone into his home and into his church, Mountville Presbyterian that he loved so well. He first served as an elder in his 20's and for many years throughout his long life he served in that capacity. He was a trustee and also a teacher. When he was asked to serve, he did until he retired as elder in his late seventies. He also served faithfully on the cemetery association. My last memories of him will always be as greeter on the front porch of the church where he welcomed everyone with a smile and a pleasant exchange.
