I am saddened to hear that Mr. Carrasco passed away. I worked with him at the ISF and it was always a pleasure. He taught me many things that I still use in my everyday life. My deepest regrets and my deepest sympathy to his family. As Mr. Carrasco said, "Feed the Bear".

Armando was a real friend to me while I was stationed at NORAD/NORTHCOM. I always enjoyed talking with him on the phone, then I actually got to meet him in person when I went TDY to JTF-N. He was a warm, caring, compassionate man who left a lasting impact on my life and career. My most sincere sympathy to his family and friends left behind. Thanks for everything, Armando!

Dawn, Melissa, Michael, Robert, your loss is our loss, too. we love Armando and will miss him. His fellow soldiers John Wagstaffe, Maj. US Army Retired (RIP 2011) and Etric Smith, Sgt. US Army (RIP 2010) both his Public Affairs Office, Fort Irwin/National Training Center (California) staff, 1988-1989, must have greeted him at the pearly gates. He was a great Soldier's Soldier. He was an outstanding US Army noncommissioned officer. He used to call us "Heroes." We called him "Dad." Be strong.

Mando will continue to fill our hearts with his tremendous spirit. He won't be easily forgotten by anyone who really knew him. He had a fondness for people of all walks of life and sometimes - even though very set in his ways - expanded his gentle understanding to those who required further consideration. What a tremendous person he was while he walked and talked with us. I know he is wanting his fellow guardian angels to sample some menudo from the Good Luck Cafe on Alameda (maybe he'll find a way to get them all in that restaurant on a special pass from God).

Jesus Lord, I had just met him the Saturday before his passing on Sunday morning. We talked for about an hour or so and all he talked about was his family, cars and the up coming car show here at Hudson's. God always takes the good people. My condolences goes out to his family.

Years later Im assigned to JTF-N and Armando worked there too we chatted daily/weekly. Armando talked about his love for his family and his beloved US Army. He is a charismatic soldier and leader. Armando is a national hero who served with pride and continued to serve his country. He will be greatly missed,but now his family members have a guardian watching and taking care of them.
