Donald Britton Cruce

1929 - 2016

Donald Britton Cruce, 87, completed his life journey on May 19, 2016. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was born to William Cruce and Dollie Phariss on January 1, 1929 in Mineral Wells, TX. He is now reunited with his parents; his wife, Barbara Cruce; and step-son, William W. Lovelace. Donald was very active and enjoyed life to the fullest. He was a Veteran and served his country from 1946-1949 in the U.S. Army. He also received a Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural Science from NMSU and was a teacher in Agricultural Studies. Among his many professions he was also a financial administrator, real estate broker, and farmer. He was a giving, loving person who was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He is survived by his son, William D. Cruce; daughters: Janice Crodry and Judy Vinson; step-son, Michael E. Lovelace; step-daughters: Karen Lynn Muñoz, LuAnn Dunn, Rita Susan Perez and Jackie Lee Barker; 20 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m., with a Funeral Service to begin at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home East, 750 N. Carolina Dr. Graveside Service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Military Honors. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-East.
