Edith (Mandy/Edie) Madden Higdon 97, daughter of Edith Murray and John Francis (Frank) Madden, Jr. passed away April 18, 2021 peacefully in her home. She was born in Omaha, NE. She started her working career in Washington, DC at the FBI. She met and married James H Higdon, Jr, a fellow employee. They moved to El Paso, TX in 1954 and started Higdon Construction Co. Later as realtors and brokers they opened Higdon Realty Inc. serving the El Paso area till their retirement. She was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church. She devoted and advocated her time and energy for the mentally retarded children of El Paso. In later years, she took up painting and enjoyed winning Bingo.

Edith is preceded in death by her husband Jim, her son Jimmy, her parents, and sisters Mary Jane Gibeau & Elinor McDevitt.

Left to cherish her memory are children Edith (Bill) Fisher, Hilary (Terry) Woodworth, Katherine (Bob) Kittel, John (Carolyn) Higdon and Rebecca (Russ) Foertsch; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sisters Noreen Follman and Joyce de Haas and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be 1PM to 5PM with a rosary at 3PM, Sunday, May 16th, at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 N. Carolina Dr. El Paso, TX. A funeral mass will be held at St. Raphael Catholic Church at 10AM Monday, May 17th. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, El Paso, TX.






Edith (Mandy/Edie) Madden Higdon, de 97 años, hija de Edith Murray y John Francis (Frank) Madden, Jr. falleció el 18 de abril del 2021 pacíficamente en su hogar. Nació en Omaha, NE. Comenzó su carrera laboral en Washington, DC, en el FBI. Se casó con James H. Higdon, Jr, un compañero de trabajo. Se mudaron a El Paso, TX en 1954 y fundaron Higdon Construction Co. Más tarde, como agentes inmobiliarios y corredores, abrieron Higdon Realty Inc. sirviendo en el área de El Paso hasta su jubilación. Ella era miembro de la Iglesia Católica San Rafael. Dedicó y defendió su tiempo y energía para los niños con retraso mental de El Paso. En años posteriores, comenzó a pintar y disfrutó de ganar en bingo. Edith es precedida en muerte por su esposo Jim, su hijo Jimmy, sus padres y sus hermanas Mary Jane Gibeau y Elinor McDevitt. También quedan numerosos nietos y bisnietos, sus hermanas Noreen Follman y Joyce de Haas y varias sobrinas, sobrinos y primos. El velorio será de 1:00 p.m. a 5:00 p.m. con el rosario a las 3:00 p.m. el domingo 16 de mayo del 2021 en Hillcrest Funeral Home, en el 1060 N. Carolina Dr., El Paso, TX. Se llevará a cabo una misa fúnebre en la Iglesia Católica San Rafael a las 10:00 a.m. el lunes 17 de mayo del 2021. Se proseguirá con el entierro en cementerio de Mount Carmel, en El Paso, TX.
