JEAN THOMAS

Jean McCray Thomas passed away February 13, 2018 at the age of 95. A native of Virginia, she has resided in El Paso since 1959. She was preceded in death by her husband John P. Thomas Jr. and her youngest son Dr. Richard M. Thomas. She had been married to John for 63 years at his death in 2005. She is survived by two sons Dr. John Thomas III and Gary M. Thomas and eleven grandchildren and fourteen great, grandchildren. Jean was active in Army wives clubs wherever stationed during her husband's years of active military duty that took them to the Philippines, Okinawa and Japan before returning to posts in the states and finally Ft. Bliss in El Paso. She was also active in various Episcopal churches, primarily St. Albans of El Paso. She sang in the choirs of them all. She was very active in the cub scouts and the American Red Cross. She worked for the El Paso School district for years. Funeral Services will be held 2:00pm, Saturday, March 03, 2018 at St. Alban's Episcopal Church, 1810 Elm St., on the corner of Elm Street and Wheeling Ave. where she will be interred next to husband John and son Richard.
