MICHAEL McGILL

1949 - 2017

Michael Dennis McGill, age 67, passed away Saturday, May 6, 2017, after a long illness. Mike was born on June 2, 1949, in El Paso, to Jean and W.T. "Mac" McGill. He was a 1967 graduate of Austin High School. During his lifetime, Mike worked at various technical jobs, including television engineer at stations in Scottsdale and San Diego as well as multiple broadcasts of the U.S. Tennis Open and Master's Golf Tournaments, Super Bowl 35, and the Sydney Olympics. He was also a film trailer editor in Hollywood, computer software developer, and he worked for a time at the El Paso Electric Company, as had his grandfather had more than 100 years ago. He married Amber Rosati on April 3, 1982 in Los Angeles. Mike is survived by his wife of 35 years, Amber, and his children, Karen and Grant (Shelby), both of San Antonio. He is also survived by his sister, Patricia Hutman (Mark) of El Paso, his brother-in-law Jerel Rosati of North Carolina, his nieces Rebekah, Kristen, and Lauren and his nephew, David. At Mike's request, cremation has taken place and no services will be held. A reception at the McGill residence (2090 Gus Moran) will be held on Wednesday, May 10, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in honor of Mike to El Paso Humane Society, 4991 Fred Wilson Avenue, El Paso, TX 79906.
