Oscar Gurrola Obituary

Oscar (Caly) Gurrola, 52 passed away peacefully Friday, November 9, 2012. He was beloved by his family and friends and will be remembered as a caring son, father and brother. He was recently retired from the El Paso Water Utilities where he worked for over 29 years. He was an avid fan of the Cowboys as his love for sports transcended into his life. He will be remembered by his children especially his daughter Bianca as her best friend who shared his appreciation for music and Sci-Fi films. He will be missed most especially by his wife who loved each other through thick and thin. Not only was he helpful to anyone in need, but his happy go lucky attitude and dry humor could easily cheer up anyone. Beloved Oscar rest in peace with our Lord, Jesus Christ. He is survived by wife, Maria T (Aragon), children, Bianca, Brianna, Mario, Jorge, Cindy and Oscar Jr. His parents, Jesus and Socorro Gurrola, sister, Maria E. Michaels, and Jose Luis, Lilia (Segura), Jesus Jr., and Juan Manuel.Visitation will be from 4-9 pm with a vigil at 7 pm Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home-East. Funeral Mass will be at 1 pm Friday, November 16, 2012 at St . Pius X Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery. Services entrusted to Sunset Funeral Home-East. My condolences to the Gurrola family I was sadden to hear of his passing on, Oscar was a longtime friend who I met at Jefferson high school. As long as I know him, he knew how to get the best out you when we were feeling down, as the years past we worked together for over 29 years. I enjoyed working alongside Oscar he always back me up and together accomplish many projects. It was a pleaser knowing him a kind, helpful, caring person.He will always live in our hearts and prayers.
