Robert Conroy Obituary

Robert D. and Kathleen Debus Conroy

El Paso - Robert D. "Bob" and Kathleen Debus Conroy, partners of 67 years, passed away six months to the hour from each other. Bob on the fourth of February, and Kathleen on the fourth of August, 2019.

Bob was raised in upstate New York, and Kathleen in London, England. After Kathleen emigrated to the United States the two met in Norwich, New York. Following the birth of their 6th child the family moved to El Paso to pursue a work opportunity for Bob, at Farah Mfg. Kathleen raised the children and volunteered countless hours to Providence Memorial Hospital. Bob served on the building committee and served St. Raphael's parish. Subsequent careers in banking and small business ownership led the two across the country until they settled back in the city that they always called home.

Robert is survived by his brother John P. Conroy and his sister Margaret Stratton. Kathleen is survived by her brother Kenneth Debus. The couple are survived by five of their children: Ellen (David) Brissette, Timothy (Christine), Patrick, Elizabeth (David) Douglas, Andrew (Cindy); 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Their son, Brian, passed away in October of this year.

Interment will be held on November 8th at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. A mass will be said in their honor at St. Raphael's Church on November 10th.

I know that all of us in the Farah family remember all of the Conroy family in our work and families. Bill took over accounting and administraction when our uncle Jimmy Farah passed away. With time the Conroy brothers took on more and more responsibility for both company and family functions. With this passing we'd like to pay our respects to your family! Jimmy Cliff

For the Conroy family, my sincerest condolences. Both Bob and Bill Conroy were senior executives at our family business, Farah. They played key roles in growing the company and interacting with not only our family but the whole Farah organization. I have no doubt that the Conroys surviving Bill and Bob will miss them. What a sad irony that Bob and Kathleen passed at nearly the same time! Jim Farah
