I am heartbroken in hearing this news. Steve and I were team captains at Eastwood during his senior year-he was such the practical joker, from blowing up a swim cap with his nose while it was wrapped around his head before a swim meet to having the best impression of Coach Guthrie. He was an amazing swimmer, a great team leader, and a good friend to me. My love and prayers go out to all of his family, especially Polly, whom I swam with as well. God bless you all!!!

Ellen & I are very sad to learn of Steve's passing. We remember how happy and upbeat he always was and how encouraging he was with the younger swimmers. One of our fondest memories is when he began rapping at an El Paso Aqua Posse get together.
