Christopher Morgan Obituary

Christopher M. Morgan, 51, Washington, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2023.

Chris, son of Lindell Morgan and wife Peggy, nee Holderbaugh, was born April 3, 1972 in Danville, Illinois. He received his education from Lafayette High School in Wildwood. He was in the marching band, jazz band and a member of the JROTC Air Force. He also attended ITT Technical Institute.

Chris had many jobs over the years. He was a manager at Imo's in Wildwood, a sound engineer at Bastille's night club in Ballwin, a bartender at many locations including O'Reaps, Satory's and Doc Haus in Washington, an office manager at Dixon Motor's in Washington, and worked at Case and Bucks in Union running their karaoke nights. He was a handyman, inventor, craftsman, plumber, carpenter, welder, IT expert, and built and rebuilt many cars for Ed Dixon to race. Basically, Chris could do it all.

He enjoyed soccer (Manchester United), gardening, creating metal sculptures, playing games on his computer and phone, but most of all he loved car racing, even helping Ed Dixon win many races. Chris was an amazing musician. He could play most instruments including the drums, saxophone, and keyboard. He made music with his friend Nate Moss as Sad Planet. He could fix anything electronic and enjoyed making, fixing or inventing anything his friends needed.

Among his survivors are his parents, Lindell and Peggy Morgan, Washington; sister, Cathy Morgan, Washington; uncles, John Golden, Tilton, Illinois, Kenny and Rhonda Morgan, Russellville, Arkansas, and Don and Kathy Holderbaugh, Arlington, Texas; aunt, Linda Mayhew, Dover, Arkansas; foreign exchange student sisters, Anke, Gaggenau, Germany, Fernanda, Manaus, Brazil, Kathryn, Stockport, England; many cousins and friends.

Chris was preceded in death by his dog Max, who adored him, and his best friend Ed Dixon.

No funeral services are scheduled at this time.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
