Corey Gurnow Obituary
Corey was born May 15, 1993, in Niles, Michigan, to Greg and Sheri Gurnow. He grew up in Niles, Michigan, South Bend, Inidiana, and Imperial and Labadie, Missouri. He attended Washington High School and graduated in 2012. Corey went on to graduate from Missouri S&T with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering in 2016. Corey went to work for Ameren Missouri as an Electrical and Project Engineer for over 8 years, earning his Professional Engineer (PE) license in 2022.
Corey was a vibrant soul with an infectious smile and could catch you off guard and make you laugh with his sly humor. Corey made many lives better just by knowing him and his strong faith in Jesus.
From a young age, Corey enjoyed playing in the sand and riding roller coasters. Corey and his family visited over 17 amusement parks. Corey and his family enjoyed numerous vacations across the U.S. and Caribbean.
Corey is survived by his wife of five years, Elizabeth "Libby" (Hedges) Gurnow; parents Greg and Sheri (Schmeisser) Gurnow; sister Clarissa (Nathan) Kopp; grandparents Don and Peggy Schmeisser, Ron and Sandra Gurnow; and in-laws John and Laura Hedges; aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grams, Carolyn (Burns) Schmeisser, cousins Evan and Kyle Gurnow.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m., Friday, June 13, at Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home and the funeral will be 11 a.m., Saturday, June 14th, at First Baptist Church Arnold.
