May the family of David L. Bassett please except my condolences. May the love Jesus and his Father have for mankind give you the comfort you need to help you through this difficult time in your life. - John 3:16

I was fortunate enough to meet Dave in early 1994 when he was the Instructor for a portion of my service training class. His calm, good-natured and always helpful attitude has been a great help through many stressful situations over the years during phone calls where I needed technical support. During my annual trips to St. Louis it was always a joy when our paths crossed. For me, Dave was one of those rare people you meet who would never get a second glance in a crowd, but would make my day seem a little brighter because of his genuine warmth and desire to help. May God provide peace and comfort to his family and friends.

I remember Dave as a teenager and we referred to him as "Schnoz." One time at our grandparent's house, we had homemade ice cream and one of the kids noticed my aunt putting in a little yellow food color (it was vanilla ice cream). That started a whole series of goofing around with the food coloring. Each kid had a different color but nothing too radical. Dave got adventurous and put a bunch of blue in his bowl of ice cream. After getting it all stirred up and very bright, he got freaked out and couldn't eat it. I am so glad I got to see him a few weeks ago when he came for mom's funeral. We love you guys.
