George Sullentrup Obituary

- 1944 - 2021 -

George O. Sullentrup, 76, Washington, passed away Wednesday, June 2, 2021.

George, son of the late Melvin Sullentrup and his wife, Sophia, nee Ballmann, was born on June 3, 1944, in Washington. He received his education from St. Francis Borgia and graduated from Washington High School. On June 15, 1968, he was united in marriage to Virginia Bauer at St. Francis Borgia Church. George was employed at Walmart in Washington for 12-plus years and worked his entire life on the family farm.

Among his survivors are his wife, Virginia Sullentrup, Washington; two children, Lynn Marie Carson and husband Michael, St. Clair, and Paul H. Sullentrup, Alton, Illinois; brother, Charles L. Sullentrup and wife Phyllis, Washington; sister, Betty K. Gordon, Hebron, Kentucky; one grandchild, Jacob P. Carson, St. Clair; nephews, Christian and Todd Gordon; other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a child, Pamela K. Sullentrup.

A visitation was held on Monday, June 7, from 4-7 p.m. at Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home, Washington.

A Mass of Christian burial was held on Tuesday, June 8, at 10 a.m. at St. Francis Borgia Church.

Interment was in the St. Francis Borgia Cemetery.

Memorial Donations can be made to the Franklin County Humane Society.

Arrangements were in care of Nieburg-Vitt, Miller Funeral Home, Washington.
