Grace L. Curtis

1930 - 2018

Grace L. Curtis, nee Hill, 88, Union, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2018, at her home.

Grace, daughter of Epps Hill and wife Fanny, nee Robinson, was born July 25, 1930, in Holly Grove, Ark. On Feb. 14, 1948, she was united in marriage to the Rev. James Curtis, in Piggott, Ark.

James and Grace founded and pastored Full Gospel Tabernacle Church in Times Beach and Eureka. At Life Christian School in Fenton, she held the position of librarian. Grace was a longtime volunteer at Crosspoint Christian School in Villa Ridge and also volunteered at Mercy Hospital. Grace dedicated her life to the Lord and her family, leaving the legacy of a great encourager and example to others.

She is survived by six children, Karen Bokan, Sharon Rodgers and husband Leonard, all of Eureka, Larry Curtis and wife Trina, House Springs, Kim Brand and husband Kenny, Granite City, Ill., Patti Nantz and husband Bob, Union, and Jeff Curtis, St. Louis; seven grandchildren, Anthony Rodgers, Elisabeth Houseknecht and husband Stephen, Christopher Curtis, Derek Curtis, Nathan Brand and wife Britni, Becky Jones and husband Kyle, and A.J. Nantz; three great-grandchildren, James Houseknecht, Joanna Houseknecht and Lucia Jones; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.

Grace was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. James Curtis; one son, James "Rick" Curtis; one daughter, Shirley Curtis; son-in-law, Bill Bokan; her parents, Epps and Fanny Hill; one brother, E.J. Hill; and one sister, Lovelle Arnhart.

Visitation was scheduled for 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, at Midlawn Funeral Home, Union.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at the funeral home.

Interment will be at Bethel Cemetery, Pond.
