James Anthony Struckhoff Jr., 63, Washington, passed away Saturday, June 5, 2021.

James was born July 28, 1957, son of the late James Struckhoff Sr. and wife Maryn, nee Post. He was born and raised in Washington. He received his education at St. Francis Borgia Grade School and graduated from Washington High School in 1976. He then attended college at the University of Missouri-Columbia. James and Cynthia made their home in Washington. He devoted his life to farming and was happiest on a tractor. His family is very proud to have one of the remaining Century Farms. James was a member of St. Francis Borgia Church and the Happy-Go-Lucky Club and Cub Scout master of Troop 439. He was a big supporter of local businesses. James loved his motorcycles, and every year on his birthday he treated himself by renting a Harley Davidson for the day. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his beloved children and his dogs. He will be greatly missed.

James is survived by his significant other, Cynthia Warner, Washington; one son, James Struckhoff III, Washington; two daughters, Jennifer Struckhoff and significant other Andrew Sumner, Washington, and Alisha Rudd, Iowa; three grandchildren; two sisters, Maryn Freitag and husband Jeff, Minnesota, and Susan Hellmann and husband Craig, Washington; one brother, John Struckhoff and wife Nancy, Washington; three dogs, Opal, Maisel and Sam; other relatives and friends.

James was preceded in death by his parents, James and Maryn Struckhoff; grandparents; and his dog, Smarty.

A celebration of life for James Struckhoff Jr. will be held Thursday, June 17, from 5-9 p.m. in the lower level of the Knights of Columbus Hall, Washington.

A funeral Mass will be held Friday, June 18, at 10 a.m. at St. Francis Borgia Church, Washington. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the family for funeral expenses, with checks made payable to Jennifer Struckhoff.

The Struckhoff family is being served by Oltmann Funeral Home, Washington.
