Joseph Fowler Obituary

Joseph Michael Fowler, known as ?Joseph Michael Martin Murphy,? ?Party Fowler,? or as Grandma would call him ?Joey!?, 38, Springfield, Missouri, left this Earth at his home, Wednsday, May 28, 2025.

Joe was born in St. Louis, Missouri, Feb. 27, 1987, to Donna L. Fowler and his father George E. Morris of Lovington, New Mexico.

Joe received his associates degree in Social Work from Ozark Technical College. While going to school he worked for Burrell Behavioral Health as a certified Peer Specialist. Joe also enjoyed doing maintenance for New Beginning Sanctuary along with teaching Good Dads. On Sundays, you could find him in Aurora as the Worship Leader for the Well. Tuesday and Thursday nights he usually was playing or leading worship at Springfield Recovery Community Center.

Honestly, Joe never met a stranger. He was always willing to help the next person. He enjoyed riding the bus and sharing his story of Recovery to the person sitting beside him. If it wasn't recovery, he shared his love for God.

Joe's love for music was no secret. His talent for just listening to a song and being able to play it was amazing. His love for his dogs was right up there too. Pokey, Taz and Deafy were so spoiled.

He cared deeply for the people in his life. It did not matter if you were family or friends, or even a stranger.

Joe is survived by his wife Amanda J. Fowler, Springfield, Missouri; a step son Destin Unger, Mountain Grove, Missouri; his mother Donna L. Fowler; a brother John Fowler; and grandmother Eleanor Fowler, all of St. Louis.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather R.H. Fowler; mother-in-law Karen Rust and father-in-law Robert Unger; not to mention many friends and family.

He is probably jamming with McSnabby ? Jeff McNabb.

His wife Amanda would like everyone to remember mental health is a real thing. Please, if you need help reach out. You do not have to do this alone. Last thing, Joe loved you all just like a fat kid loves cake.

A family directed memorial service was held at 3 p.m., Wednesday, June 4, at The Well, 720 N Norton, Springfield, Missouri 65803.

Thank you so much for loving him.

Joe, you will forever be loved and missed by so many, my dude. You were such a solid, supportive, nothing-but-love part of my own recovery story and I know that's true for 1000+ others. My heart aches for sure, but I know you are in God's arms now.
