Karen Cordia Obituary

Karen Elaine Cordia, 71, St. Clair, passed away Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013, surrounded by the love of her family.

Karen, daughter of the late Lynnual Noel Campbell and wife Ursula Afton, nee Dixon, was born Sept. 22, 1942, in St. Louis. She was united in marriage to Gerald "Jerry" Francis Cordia June 3, 1961, and three children came to bless this union.

Karen was a Christian of the Catholic faith, and longtime member of St. Clare Catholic Church, St. Clair. During her working career, she was employed as a laborer at both International Shoe Company, St. Clair, and Deb Shoe Company, Union. She also worked as a clerk for Fast Lane Gas Station, St. Clair, and Walmart, both in Union and Washington. Karen had a variety of interests throughout her life, including fishing, raising flowers, working in the yard and just enjoying nature in general. She also loved to take family trips to Branson. What meant most to her was the time spent with her family. Karen's children and grandchildren held a special place in her heart, as she did in theirs. The love they shared and many precious memories they created will live in their hearts forever.

Karen was preceded in death by one son, Gerald F. Cordia Jr.; parents, Lynnual Noel and Ursula Afton Campbell; and one brother, David Campbell.

She is survived by her husband, Gerald "Jerry" Francis Cordia Sr., St. Clair; two children, Robin Williams and husband David, and Jeribe Cordia and wife Samantha, all of St. Clair; seven grandchildren, Kyle Holder and wife Sarah, Coty Holder, Caleb Holder and wife Stormy, Randi Williams, Xander Cordia, Killian Cordia and Breslin Cordia, all of St. Clair; two great-grandchildren, Ezra Holder and Evelyn Holder, both of St. Clair; one sister-in-law, Sue Campbell, Osage Beach; brothers- and sisters-in-law; nieces; nephews; great-nieces and -nephews; cousins; other relatives and many friends.
