Marie Jasper Obituary

Marie C. Jasper, 86, Washington, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, in Washington.

Marie, the daughter of the late Joseph Kopp and wife Agatha, nee Gildehaus, was born Feb. 17, 1927, in Washington.

She received her education from St Francis Borgia Grade School, Washington. On Nov. 8, 1947, Marie was united in marriage to Othmar Jasper at St. Francis Borgia Church, Washington. She was employed by Deb Shoe Factory, Hazel Manufacturing and Magnet Inc.

Marie was a member of St. Gertrude Church and the Ladies Sodality.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Allen Jasper; two sisters, Leola Kopp and Rose Glosemeyer; and an infant child.

Marie is survived by her husband, Othmar Jasper, Washington; four sons, Larry Jasper, San Francisco, Calif., Glennon Jasper and wife Frances, Lester Jasper and wife Beth, all of New Haven, and Wayne Jasper and wife Kim, St. Louis; two daughters, Carol Riegel and husband Bob, Washington, and Diane Kessler and husband Tom, Augusta; one brother, Herb Kopp and wife Bernice, Washington; two sisters, Leona Kuchem and husband Roman and Mildred Glosemeyer, all of Washington; 13 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins; and friends.

A Mass of Christian burial was held Saturday, March 2, at St. Gertrude Church with the Rev. Richard Coerver officiating.

Interment was in the church cemetery.

Memorials to St. Gertrude Church or School are preferred.

Arrangements were made in care of Nieburg-Vitt Funeral Home, Washington.
