Alan Bode Obituary
Alan was born on Jan. 17, 1942, in Richmond, Indiana, to Arthur and Helen Bode. Following service with the U.S. Army Reserve, Alan worked for the U.S. Army as a civilian accountant, retiring from his last post in Heidelberg, Germany where he worked for 10 years, to Punta Gorda in 2002. He was an active member of Pilgrim United Church of Christ in Port Charlotte.
He is survived by his sons, Kevin (Sofia) Bode of Pacificia, California, and Christopher Bode of Lake Suzy, Florida; a brother, Mark (Maggie) Bode of Greenfield, Indiana; three nieces; and numerous extended family members.
A Visitation for Alan will be held this Thursday, Dec. 28, from 10 a.m. to Noon at Roberson Funeral Home, 2151 Tamiami Trail in Port Charlotte. A Memorial service celebrating Alan's life will be held at 2 p.m. also on Thursday, Dec. 28, at Pilgrim United Church of Christ, 24515 Rampart Blvd. in Port Charlotte. Further services and burial will be held in his native Richmond, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Alan's name to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 840692 Dallas, TX 75284-0692.
Friends may visit online at www.robersonfh.com to extend condolences to the family. Arrangements are by Roberson Funeral Homes & Crematory, Port Charlotte Chapel.
