Zaidee A. Bode (Minor) passed away peacefully on February 16, 2026 in Tucson, Arizona, at the age of 97.
Born in Hannibal, Missouri, Zaidee’s life would carry her east, south, and west before settling in Phoenix, but the values she grew up with – kindness, compassion, and devotion – never left her. She spent most of her adult life in Phoenix where she and her husband of 73 years, Harold, built a home that became a gathering place for family and friends.
Zaidee was in many ways a classic, mid-century mother – devoted to her husband and children, attentive to their lives, and tireless in her support. These traits were not limited to her children and husband, though; they extended to her friends, her grandchildren, and her great grandchildren…and almost anyone who entered her orbit.
She and Harold were fixtures at family-member birthday parties, graduations, recitals, plays, sporting events, and other occasions, making a regular circuit between Phoenix, Tucson, and Los Angeles to spend time with their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Family and friends were important to her. So important that she learned how to email, text, and use Facebook to stay connected until her passing. When she asked, “How are you?” she meant it; it wasn’t a simple greeting to her. Zaidee’s compassion and warmth endeared her to those she met.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Harold, whose century-long life intertwined with hers for more than seven decades and by one of their four children Rick. She leaves behind three children, nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and a wide circle of extended family and friends who carry pieces of her with them.
A visitation will be held on Monday, March 2nd from 12:00 P.M. – 2:00 P.M. at Whitney & Murphy Funeral Home, 4800 E. Indian School Road, Phoenix. A Mass will be celebrated at Brophy Chapel, 4701 N.
