Allen Olsen Obituary
Retired CW2 Allen Robert Olsen, 70, of Enterprise, AL, passed away Friday, July 7, 2023, in Tampa, FL.
Allen had such an outgoing personality and natural charisma to make friends no matter the situation. He loved his children and grandchildren and was a pushover to any of their requests. He was a man of simple taste who enjoyed spending free time on his Harley.
His purpose and passion in life was aviation. He joined the Air Force to serve his country and then transitioned to the U.S. Army. He spent his days serving as a Huey pilot until he retired in 1995. His decorations include Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and Army Achievement Medal. In the final chapter of his aviation career, he turned his passion of flying into instruction as he trained the future pilots of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his sons, Alex Olsen and wife, Tria of Queen Creek, AZ, Cory Olsen of Chandler, AZ, Craig Olsen and wife, Megan of Brandon, FL, Kevin Olsen and wife, Michelle of Moore, OK; brother, Ron Olsen of Lake Placid, FL; grandchildren, Kayne Olsen, Collin Olsen, Jersey Stevens, Ryder Olsen, Gunyr Olsen, Scarlett Olsen, and Kameron Olsen.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 29, 2023, at VFW Post 6683, 2615 Country Rd. 537, in Enterprise, AL. The service with full military honors will commence at 10 a.m. The family will then host a reception within the VFW immediately following the ceremony.

Allen and I met in 1979 at Williams AFB and became friends that shared many common interests. Hot rods, hunting, fishing, aircraft, helicopters, and over landing in 4X4's. Although our careers took us in different directions he still managed to find time to reach out and give me a call right up until the end. He called in June and we managed to talk several times before his passing, always upbeat and positive. He was an inspiration to all that knew him and he will be missed.
