Joseph Howell Obituary
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 18, 2009, at College Avenue Church of Christ with Minister Keith Ellis and Minister George Merritt officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends at Sorrells Funeral Home Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Wiregrass Christian Youth Camp Inc., P.O. Box 311072, Enterprise, AL 36331.
Mr. Howell was born March 4, 1919, in Geneva County to the late James Franklin and Pearl Skipper Howell.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was retired from Sessions Peanut Company. He was a member of College Avenue Church of Christ and served as a deacon and elder for more than 50 years.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Jewell Lolley Howell, Enterprise; his son, Dr. Larry Howell and wife Cheryl, Enterprise; three grandchildren, Dr. Todd Howell (Melissa), Ryan Howell (Mary Beth) and Brent Howell; four great-grandchildren: Emma, William, JonRyan and Hannah.
