Audrey Pustelak Obituary
She was born on January 6, 1938, in Erie, a daughter of the late Wayne and Florence "Nona" (Powers) Johnson.
Audrey graduated from Girard's Rice Avenue Union High School in 1956. She began working at Tru Temper in Lake City and later Erie Resistor. Following her marriage, she and her husband Bill began Pustelak Masonry in Girard in 1973. There she was co-owner and office manager, also working in the same function of the family business, "Cycle City" until her retirement in 2011. She was an active supporter of motocross, traveling throughout the United States with her boys as they raced. She and Bill enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S. and the world in their retirement years.
She was a lifetime member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Girard, where she received the honor of becoming a "Lady of Pope St. Sylvester," because of her active support of the church throughout her life. Audrey was active in the election polls in Girard Township and was Judge of Elections for a time.
In addition to her parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer Pustelak in infancy; also a sister, Geraldine Essick; and three brothers, Wayne Jr., Charles "Chuck" and Donald Johnson.
She will be greatly missed by her family, which includes her husband, J. William "Bill" Pustelak, whom she married May 10, 1958 in Girard; her daughter, Susan K. Vogt (Chris Sobczak); two sons, Gary W. Pustelak (Christine) and Timothy J. Pustelak; a sister, Norma Stubbe (Larry); her beloved grandchildren, Rylee, Bobbi Jo, Tricia, Angel, Joey, Caden, Morgan, Liam, Langston and Kaycee; two great-grandchildren, Mason and Addisyn; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Edder Funeral Home, Inc., 309 Main St. East, Girard. A Prayer Service will be held there on Monday at 10:30 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 101 Olin Ave., Girard at 11 a.m. with Fr. William Miller and Fr. John Detisch officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Audrey Pustelak Memorial Fund, c/o Edder Funeral Home.
Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Girard.
