Dianne Hatfield Obituary

March 31, 1941 - Feb. 9, 2014
SOUTH BEND - Dianne Beth Hatfield, age 72, passed away after an illness in her home in South Bend. Dianne spent most of her life in South Bend before moving to Mishawaka where she was employed for ten years at Parkway Lanes and Beacon Bowl bowling alleys. She then moved to Beaverton, OR, to spend time with her mother and sister where she worked as an EKG Technician for Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Clackamas, OR, for 13 years. After retiring in 2003, she moved back to South Bend to be able to spend more time with her children and grand-children. Dianne was born on March 31, 1941, in South Bend, to the late Estel A. and Mildred I. (Farmer) Clarke (Kelly). Survivors include a sister, Judith (Jerry) Skellenger of Florida; a cousin, Fred (Sharon) Kruger of Florida; three children, Douglas (Kristin) Hatfield of Fountain Hills, AZ, Stacy (Keith DeLaruelle) Hatfield of South Bend, IN, and Todd (Becky) Hatfield of Middlebury, IN; four grandchildren, Amber (Rodney Smith) Hatfield, Rowann, Mayha and Aaron Hatfield; and two great-grandchildren, Samari and Kaleah Smith. Dianne was a fun-loving person with a contagious personality. She was the life of any party and had many friends. Dianne was the type of person you could know for only five minutes, yet think you had known her a lifetime. She loved to bowl and travel, and absolutely adored her children, grandchildren & great-grandchildren. Dianne was an avid Notre Dame football fan and always joined in the singing of the Notre Dame Victory March. Over the last years of her life on Earth, she loved and enjoyed her dog, Wiggy. Wiggy never left her side over her last few days. In lieu of flowers and because of her love for animals, we ask that contributions in her memory be made to the Humane Society, 2506 Grape Rd., Mishawaka, IN 46545. The family appreciates the love and prayers they have received over the past week. They have been a great comfort. We know Dianne is celebrating her life in heaven and we look forward to seeing her again very soon. A graveside service for Dianne will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 9th, at the Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend, where her parents are laid to rest. Online condolences may be sent through www.palmerfuneralhomes.com.

Stacy so sorry to hear this. Spent many bowling nights in the Parkway Bar talking to your mom. She was a hoot! Remember the night we borrowed her truck to go on a date and I slid off the road and hit a mailbox on Dragoon Trail? She was not even mad! I was scared! She will be greatly missed. My condolences.
