Dominick Berarducci

Dominick (Blackie) Berarducci, age 93, of Erie passed away Wednesday February 9, 2011 at Independence Court. He was born August 15, 1917 in West Newton, Pa. the son of the late Joseph and Bettina Leone Berarducci. Blackie was a graduate of Strong Vincent High School where he starred on their football team. He also served 58 months with the US Army during WW II having received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. For over thirty years he had worked as a bartender at local establishments retiring from the Diamond Café. An all around athlete, he had played for the Erie Vets semi-pro football team. Blackie was also a lifetime member of the Siebenbuerger Club and Downing Golf Course. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Patrick Berarducci along with five brothers; Edward, Eli, Eugene, Frank, and Arthur Berarducci and a sister Florida DiEugenio. Blackie is survived by a brother, Americo (Cab) Berarducci of Erie along with many nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to call at the John J. Quinn Funeral Home, West 9th & Liberty St., Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. & 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Saturday at 9:00 a.m. in St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 2801 West 6th St.. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
