Daniel Villagomez Obituary

DANIEL R. VILLAGOMEZ, 61, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2002 due to complications after heart surgery. Preceded in death by his parents: Agustin and Enedelia Villagomez; brothers, Ramon, Jack, Luis, and sister, Anita Garcia. Survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Ofelia S. Villagomez; sons, Daniel Albert, Sam, Abel; brothers, Augustine and Carols; sisters, Inez Rodriguez, Margaret Bazan, Mercedes Gonzales, Maria Fillingame, Irene Salazar; granddaughters, Danielle and Kristina Villagomez and numerous nieces and nephews. Daniel retired from Gray Tool Co. where he worked as a machinist and foreman for 20 years. He was a graduate of the American Society of Engineering, served as a director of the Food Pantry of Queen of Peace Catholic Church for over 10 years, and member of the Knights of Columbus Council 4577 for 42 years. He was also very active in the community and political arena where he served as precinct judge, and volunteered for several organizations including the United Way. Visitation will be Friday, July 5, 2002 at 3:00 pm ~ 9:00 pm at Crespo Funeral Home, Broadway Chapel. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Friday, July 5, 2002. The Funeral Procession will depart at 9:15 am where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Saturday, July 6, 2002 at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to Queen of Peace Food Pantry, 3011 Telephone Road, Houston, Texas 77023.
