Michael Murphy Obituary
Michael was a 1981 graduate of Academy High School. He was a Navy veteran who received many letters of commendation for his technical knowledge and skill as a sonar technician. He served on the USS Virginia and the USS Stump. Michael was employed at Otis Elevator for 28 years as an elevator constructor troubleshooter.
He leaves to cherish his memory six siblings, Jack Murphy (Sue) Guys Mills, Pa., Judy Murphy (Andy Hornyak) Erie, Pa., Marjorie Murphy, Sanford, Fla., Diane Kestle (Terry) Erie, Pa., Tim Murphy (Laura) Buffalo, N.Y., and Patrick Murphy (Tracy) Water Island, US Virgin Islands, and a step-brother David Barczak (Debbie) Perryville, Md.
Michael also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins, and life long friends and musicians. Michael, we are all wondering about that percussion section in your new home.
There will be no calling hours but a celebration of life is planned for July 26th. "I go to prepare a place for you," John 14.3.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I met Mike through our elevator service at Edinboro University. He was so nice and sweet and had great customer service skills along with his technical abilities. When my son passed away a few years ago, he brought in the most beautiful plant and the sweetest card for me. What a great guy who will be truly missed.

Mike,
I am so sad to hear of your early departure from this world. Both sister Liz and I remember you fondly, as does the entire Sesler family. You were more than Pat's little brother. You were always a kind and good guy, who loved music, hanging out with us, talking, and just being part of our gang. Back in elementary school, we remember riding mini bikes across from Rupp's, building the tree house at Mr. Konnerth's, going on adventure hikes to Winter Green Gorge, building snow forts and having snowball fights. Life was simple and good with Brian, Todd, Scott, Neal, Pat, you and me all together growing up and learning about the world. As we grew, our lives inevitably became more complex. We navigated as well as we could. I hope that you time on this earth was good and that you are now at peace. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Pat, Tim and the whole family on this loss.

Shocked and saddened to hear of Mike's passing.
We met in high school through band.
It was always great to see him when we'd all get together for reunions.
