Rita Boldizar Obituary
Rita R Sokoloff Boldizar, 88, of Erie, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at LECOM Senior Living Center. She was born July 5, 1927 in Erie and was a daughter of the late Coli and Annie Sokoloff.
Rita was known for her kind heart and helpful nature. Those who knew her will always remember her determination, persistence and strong will.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Alyce Burke, Margaret Sokoloff, Kathryn Dolan, Violet Sokoloff, and Edna Zmijewski, as well as her brothers, James, Milton, Jack and Steve.
She is survived by her son Rick Boldizar of Erie, and her grandchildren, Rick, Becky, Sawyer, and Katie, as well as three great-grandchildren, Michael, Steven and Hanna.
No viewing was held and the immediate family chose to have a private ceremony. Arrangements were handled by the John J. Quinn Funeral Home, West 9th & Liberty streets. Please send condolences to www.quinnfuneralhomeerie.com.

I am so sorry to hear of Rita's passing. I have often thought about her and wondered what she was up to. I worked with Rita when I was in high school and college at St. Vincent. She always "blew" into the office like a gust of fresh air. She was a lot of fun to work with and made coming to work so enjoyable for this young girl (at that time). RIP my friend. You are still thought of.

Dear Rick & Family: Your mom was the kindest and very upbeat person. I worked with her and she was such a fun lady to be around. I have many happy memories of Rita & will always treasure the beautiful baby afghan she made me for my first baby. She will be missed. God Bless her and all of your family.

To Rick and family.....I knew Rita from Saint Vincent's, first through my mom, Ruth and then from working there myself. She was always upbeat, kind hearted and had a great sense of humour. I have often thought about her over the years. I am very sorry for your loss.
