Robert Knaf Obituary

Robert W. Knaf Robert W. Knaf, age 96, a resident of St. Mary's Home East died Thursday October 16, 2008. He was born September 29, 1912 in Erie the son of the late William T. and Edna Raeder Knaf. Robert was a 1931 graduate of Strong Vincent high school and in 1942 he began work at Hayes Manufacturing. He spent 32 years there retiring as a Production Planner. An active volunteer, Robert drove for the American Red Cross before the LIFT program was started and also volunteered for 16 years with the Second Harvest Food bank. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters Marjorie Ellenberger and Gladys Brownlie. He is survived by four nephews and niece along with his very good friends Elizabeth and Benjamin Lydic. There will be no visitation. Funeral services will be private with burial in Trinity Cemetery.
