Sandra McGinnett Obituary


Sandra (Kimmy) McGinnett, 73, of Union City, Pa., passed into eternal life on November 18, 2015, surrounded by her family. She was born on November 6, 1942, to the late Homer and Irene (Patton) Kimmy.

She worked at Cherry Hill Division of Ethan Allen Furniture Company for 24 years where she was the safety director and supervisor of several departments. When the company closed, she worked as a Security Officer for Hamot Hospital / UPMC. Sandra loved to garden, go camping, and decorate cakes. She also loved the sport of archery. She was devoted to her family and grandchildren and enjoying their company was her favorite way to spend a day.

Sandra is preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Allysa Ann Miller; and a sister, Gail Irene Kimmy.

She is survived by her husband, Melvin McGinnett; daughters, Vickie Babcock of Waterford, Pa. and Darlene Miller of Meadville, Pa.; grandchildren, Tyler Babcock, Chelsea Babcock, Andrew Miller, and Stephanie Miller; a brother, David (Mary) Kimmy of Union City, Pa.; sister, Beverly Landers and her companion David, of Union City, Pa; nieces and nephews; and aunts and uncles.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2015 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the Robert M. Glenn Funeral Home, Inc., 62 South Main Street, Union City, PA 16438. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, November 20, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Rob Willert, officiating. Interment will be at Mill Village Cemetery. Memorials are requested to the Mill Village Volunteer Fire Department, 14408 North Main Street, Waterford, PA 16441.

I just wanted to say your mother sandy was a wonderful caring women and our family and children will miss her, between church, firehall, and working with her at hamot plus the fair grounds. She was amazing loving person, i will never forget going over to her and melivins house making christmas wreaths ... we had so much fun....
