Littlestown
Sharon F. Byron, 55, entered into God's eternal care on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at the Gettysburg Hospital.
Born September 16, 1961 in Baltimore, MD, she was the daughter of the late James H. Byron and Dolores A. (Smith) Byron of Littlestown.
Sharon was previously employed as a credit analyst at BB&T Bank in Westminster, MD. She was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Littlestown where she previously sang on the church choir, served as a member of the parish council and taught CCD. Sharon was a 1979 graduate of Littlestown High School, earned her Bachelor Degree from Shippensburg University and her Masters from Mt. St. Mary's University, Emmitsburg, MD. Sharon was an avid Orioles fan and enjoyed spending time with her nieces, nephews, family and friends. She will be greatly missed by her two cats Holly and Daisy.
Surviving in addition to her mother are three sisters, Lisa Runk and husband, Richard of New Oxford, Debra Small and husband, Scott, and Brenda Wunderlich all of Littlestown; nieces and nephews, Corey and wife, Bridget, Megan, Crystal, Jason and husband, Justin, Sara, Liz, Sophia, Landon, Brittany, Kara, Kourtney, Derrien, Kristen and Kyra; brother-in-law, John Foreman and his daughter, Jodie. She was preceded in death by a sister, Michele Foreman; and a nephew, Nicholas Byron.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, June 24, 2017 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Littlestown with Rev. C. Anthony Miller and Rev. James Sterner concelebrating. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Edgegrove. Friends and relatives will be received Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Murphy Funeral Home, 501 Ridge Ave. McSherrystown with a prayer service at 8 p.m.
Serving as pallbearers will be Richard Runk, Scott Small, John Foreman, Corey Runk, Jason Small, Sara Small, Nate Arentz and Jonathan Brewer.
Memorial contributions in memory of Sharon may be made to St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 29 S. Queen St., Littlestown, PA 17340.
