Jay Ware Obituary

Jay T. Ware of Mount Pleasant, SC and formerly of Wellsville, NY and Westerville, OH, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2021 at the age of 84. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania he was the son of the late William and Lelia Celia Ware.
Jay was known to many as a very warm, gentle person and is deeply mourned by his wife Sandy Ware, their children Stacy Ware of Mount Pleasant, SC, and Jana Harvey (George) of New Canaan, CT and seven grandchildren Brittany Radonich (Michael), Tessa McKinley, Michaeleen McKinley, Evelyn Harvey, Julia Harvey, George Harvey and Peter Harvey.
A graduate of Alfred University, he held a Bachelors of Science in Business. He began his career as an engineer, and went on to receive a patent with two other colleagues on Concentric Tube Recuperative Heat Exchanger in 1980. As a Shriner, Jay was always giving and a great listener to others. He had the ability to think in a creative way and this was seen in his career as well as in his spare time. He truly had talent of a professional artist. His talent was seen on canvas, paper, ice sculptures, and clay. But it was also seen when he and Sandy remodeled their homes.
He had the wonderful ability to bring smiles to all that knew him. Especially when he could take a scrap of paper and pencil and within minutes have all the grandchildren in laughter and smiles with the cartoons he drew.
Jay will always be our "Batman" and will be deeply missed as a husband, father, grandfather, and friend, but will always be in our hearts and our memories.
A memorial service will be in the future when Covid restrictions have been lifted.
His family requests that those wishing to honor Jay to consider a gift to The Michael J. Fox Foundation, https://www.michaeljfox.org/donate for the research that is needed for Parkinson's Disease.

Jay was a great neighbor and pool buddy to my husband, Steve. He liked to be the golf cart driver as they drove to the clubhouse to meet the others. Jay enjoyed old movies, like John Wayne; and the art pieces I saw were certainly noteworthy. Jay will be missed by his family and the friends he made throughout his life.

Very sorry to read this. I remember when the Ware family came to Wellsville as my dad ( Carl Peterson ) worked with him at Pre Heater. Condolences from the Peterson family.
