James Rott Obituary

James C. Rott, 81, died at 7:27 AM, Monday in Tulsa.
A family visition will be held from 6-8pm Thursday evening at the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday in the Oglesby Cemetery with Pastor Sherman Jacquess of the Mataoka Baptist Church officiating. Graveside services and interment will be under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
James Charlie "Jim" Rott was born on June 12, 1934 at Talala, Oklahoma the son of George and Lillie (Repschlager) Rott. He was raised in the Oolagah-Talala area and graduated from Oolagah High School. When he was 19 he was injured in a Hay Baler accident and lost both his left leg and arm but he was never handicapped. Tell him he couldn't do something and he would find a way. He could tie his own shoe, drive a stick shift car, and do carpentry work having 1 arm & 1 leg never stopped him, just created new challenges. Dad loved the land, was never happier than when he was outside-mowing, tending his garden or just watching the livestock- he was especially looking forward to the foals this spring. He graduated from Draughn Business College and went to work for Sun Oil and retired in 1989 as office manager. He worked for his son James at 1st Choice Lawn Care from 2002 to 2015 as his Chief Financial Officer and Secretary-Treasurer of the Corporation. Working for his son gave him purpose, direction and connection. He married Earlene Cunningham in September of 1962. He was a member of the Southside Christian Church in Pryor and had been attending the Mataoka Baptist Church. He loved his grandkids. He and Earlene had been foster parents to over 100 children.
Jim is survived by his wife Earlene of the home, two sons James E. Rott and his wife Jeroi of Pryor, and Chadwick E. Rott and his wife Sarah of Bartlesville, two daughters, Sheri Dawn Kennedy and her husband Larry of Ochelata and Penny Rott Miller, MS, LPC and her husband Matthew of Broken Arrow, two brothers, George Rott of Oolagah and Fred Rott of Pryor, one sister Lillian Hansen of Noel, Missouri, Seven grandchildren, Dr. Dawn K Prusator and her husband Michael, Autum Martin and her husband Cerik, Emalie Rott, Austin J. Kennedy, Aaron Rott "Jimmy Boy", Destiny Kennedy and Alexandria Rott. He was preceded in death by his parents two sisters and one great grandson, Castiel Martin.
