Ronald Hastings Obituary

Mr. Ronald Lee "Ron" Hastings, 61, of Bartlesville, died at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at his home in Bartlesville.
Private memorial services for Mr. Hastings will be held in his hometown of Council Grove, Kansas where interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
Memorials have been established to Relay For Life program of the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1094, Bartlesville, Oklahoma, 74005 or to the Animal Rescue Foundation, P.O. Box 3292, Bartlesville, Oklahoma, 74006.
Mr. Hastings was born in Emporia, Kansas on December 1, 1948 the son of Elvin Elby Hastings and Margaret Maxine (Williams) Hastings. He grew up and received his education in Council Grove, Kansas where he graduated from Council Grove High School in 1965. He attended Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He then entered the United States Navy where he served until receiving his Honorable Discharge in 1972.
He came to Bartlesville at that time and was employed with Phillips Petroleum Company until his retirement in 1992 as a marketing department manager. Following his retirement from Phillips he became active as a stockbroker with Smith Barney for ten years until his second retirement.
He was married to Victoria Lynn Stayton in Kansas City, Missouri on October 5, 1996 and they have made their home in Bartlesville since that time. He enjoyed playing golf, reading, working crossword puzzles, and watching sports. He was also an enthusiastic Kansas State fan and loved doing yard work.
Mr. Hastings is survived by his wife, Victoria Lynn Hastings of Bartlesville, one daughter, Jennifer Jo Dammeier and her husband, J.D. of Franklin, Indiana, his mother, Maxine Hastings of Council Grove, Kansas, one sister, Debra Holdeman and her husband Mark of Monument, Colorado, two grandchildren, Jacob Dammeier and Corin Dammeier, nieces and nephews, Christine Newton and her husband Chad of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Joseph Holdeman of Monument, Colorado, his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Nelson and Jackie Stayton of Bartlesville, and his two Sealyham terriers, Sophia and Gayla. He was preceded in death by his father, Elvin Elby Hastings and a brother, Brent Edward Hastings.
